If you’re going to truly and deeply heal your body, you first need to understand why you’re sick in the first place – and then you can understand why you’re having a hard time healing (and what you can do to start healing!).
When we get right down to it, you’re sick because your cells aren’t functioning properly, which makes your organs not function properly, which makes YOU not function properly.
And you’re cells aren’t functioning properly because of two things:
That’s the simplified version. But how do these happen in the first place? You probably already know the answer to that.
Our modern lifestyle and SAD diet hits us hard on both: we live in an incredibly toxic world that our bodies have not had time to evolve to handle AND the “food” most people are eating (and that we’ve all eaten for many years at some point, too) is extremely deficient in any real nutrients.
We’re bombarded with chemicals, heavy metals and biotoxins from every angle – all of which are causing us to become sick, but we don’t know it’s happening because it’s not instantaneous and it’s invisible.
Our food supply is loaded with these chemicals and toxins, and even if you’re trying to eat healthier you’re still being poisoned by conventional fruit and veggies which are heavily sprayed with pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, waxes, grown in artificial fertilisers which produce seriously lacking produce, and possibly GMO.
I know what you’re thinking – Shae, I don’t eat that crap any more! Don’t worry, we’ll get to that in a sec.

It’s a vicious cycle of toxicity and deficiency that continues for years – until we wake up.
Then we realise we’re sick and really in trouble. We start eating healthier (getting more nutrients), we start removing the obvious toxins in our life (reducing our toxic load). And those things are awesome. But they’re not enough.
At this point, the body is in a damaged state. At this point, it takes a serious, focused effort to heal.
Those toxins that you were exposed to for decades (and still are being exposed to) and the damage done from them and poor nutrition are blocking your cells from functioning normally.
Toxins attach themselves to the cell and cause the cell membrane to inflame. This causes a decrease in cellular fluidity – which means that things like nutrients can’t get into the cell, and you’re cell can’t make things like energy (ATP). It also means it can’t get the bad stuff OUT of the cell. This causes chronic and systemic inflammation.
So even if you’re eating an expensive organic diet filled with tons of fruit and veggies, it won’t make a difference if it’s not getting INTO the cell. And that’s IF it makes it past our dodgy digestive systems.
So the deficiency cycle continues – even when you’re trying to reverse it by eating well.
If you don’t remove the toxins attached to the cells, you can’t truly heal the body. We need to bring the toxins out of the cells, but we need to make sure they are getting OUT of the body, and not just recirculated and getting reabsorbed, which is where many detox protocols fail.
When toxins are released from the cells, they’re brought to the liver and bound up in bile (bile is what you’re body uses for digesting fats). But the thing with bile is that it gets reabsorbed up to 10 times by the body before it works it’s way out of the intestines through the feces.
This is where coffee enemas really shine in their uniqueness – they don’t allow reabsorption of toxic bile. Not only do coffee enemas stimulate bile flow, they help bile be safely carried out of the body and not get reabsorbed.

To heal, both of these problems – toxicity and deficiency – need to be addressed at the same time.
We need to remove the toxins from the body that are blocking our cells functioning properly, while also providing massive amounts of nutrients so the body can come back from it’s deficient state.
Juicing + coffee enemas work synergistically together.
Juicing is amazing because it provides the massive amounts of nutrition – all the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, proteins – needed to rebuild the body in an easily digestible and assimilated form.
But the problem is when people start juicing, doing a juice fast, taking certain supplements or eating ‘clean’ is that they’re only doing half of the equation. They’re cleansing the cells of toxins, stirring them up, but they’re not giving the body a way to get them OUT of the body.
So they end up just circling the body and being reabsorbed – and you feel like crap in the process. Or you may feel good while on the cleanse, but once it’s over feel the same as before.
When you start juicing, the toxins start coming out and they have to go somewhere – you don’t want them running around loose in your body, making you feel like crap, or being reabsorbed.
If you are quite toxic or have a chronic illness and you begin an intensive juicing regimen or some type of clean/raw diet, you risking making the liver worse because of the toxins being released from the cells.
Coffee enemas are like the clean up crew. They sweep up the streets of your bloodstream for circulating toxins, and ensure they’re safe passage out of the body.
And on a side note – juicing while doing coffee enemas is also important because juicing restores electrolytes and minerals that coffee enemas can take away.
It all sounds really complicated, but it’s actually simple when you see the bigger picture.
- You need to remove all the toxins from your life, your food, your environment (okay that’s a biggie, but it’s really just step by step making small switches).
- You need to eat organic food and flood your body with hyper nutrition – including juicing.
- You need to remove any foods that are blocking you from healing – food sensitivities, toxic foods etc.
- You need to be detoxing in a way that gets the crap OUT of your body – coffee enemas.
It’s simple steps that you CAN do. But they need to be done right.
It took me 5 years to figure it all out (and I became obsessed with researching and experimenting because healing was my #1 priority).
Even though healing was my #1 priority, I’ve still moved at a snails pace because so much of this information is buried, it’s hard to find, and it’s digging through the really hardcore health books and research. It’s not this surface-level, green smoothie, lemon water stuff. Most of it is tucked away from the ‘mainstream’ natural health scene.
I always felt stressed out in the back of my mind because I knew I was ignoring parts of my home that were toxic but I wasn’t ready to deal with yet – I didn’t have the time to research it and it was just another thing I had to change, on top of trying to figure out what food was safe for me and what wasn’t, what supplements I needed to heal and what were worthless or not good for me and on and on it goes.
I always felt stressed out that was I was eating or the supplements I was taking were not helping me but harming, that it was just so hard to figure out what foods my body actually liked and that were good for ME. Over time, I discovered some ways to figure out exactly what food my body liked and needed – and once you get this part to click into place, it makes life so much better and easier.
And even with 5 years, only earlier this year did I really have the mental space (since I really started feeling good and didn’t have brain fog anymore) to research the even deeper stuff that felt harder to figure out solutions to and not as important or urgent – EMF’s, what type of filtered water is best, methylation, air quality, replacing my washing powder.
And I had to figure out how to do it cheaply, because I was barely making enough money to get by as I was too sick to work full-time.
