Yep, technically they’re the same word – but there’s actually a world of difference between them. One is a powerful healing method, the other is not.
That difference is whether it will actually heal you, or whether it’s just a fluffy fad marketing gimmick. The difference is in the strategy and mindset of the two.
Doing “a detox” is your classic 7-day, 21-day, some-number-of-day detox. It could be green smoothies, green juices, lemon-cayenne-pepper, tea-tox (don’t even get me started) or whatever other stupid gimmick they come up with next.
It’s the idea of doing a detox within a confined window of time with some kind of ‘cleansing’ liquid.
It’s seen as a reboot, a kickstart. But really it’s just us trying to get a quick fix, out of desperation and frustration when we’re sick of not getting anywhere. Read the rest of this post »
