Making simple changes to your diet over time is the only way to create real and lasting habits that you can easily stick to, even in times of overwhelm, stress, feeling lazy or being time-poor.
My favourite strategy is the Upgrade method. It makes it so much simpler and easy to stick to eating healthy because you’re not giving anything up – you’re upgrading it!
It removes the feeling that you “can’t” have things, which just makes you end up obsessing about those things you can’t have. This is the reason diets don’t work! As soon as you tell yourself you can’t have something, you want it more than before.
So for example if your favourite food is nachos, upgrade it to better quality and healthier ingredients until it’s a healthy meal. Read the rest of this post »
